FROM THE DESK OF TRICIA CHATFIELD

I've walked in your shoes. My journey with pain began at the tender age of 7, with headaches that slowly evolved into chronic pain throughout my body.

At 31, I tried my first yoga class and left feeling better than I ever had after any of the countless treatments I'd tried. I discovered that I had the power to manage the pain and tension I had been living with. The breath, movement, and meditative practices I learned gave me a newfound sense of control over my life.

But...I'd still get overwhelmed by pain at times. So I decided I'd go deeper into studying the one thing that had worked for me. This time, I was pursuing my certification as a Yoga Therapist.

You know how life likes to throw us curveballs? This time, it was my son's illness that had him hospitalized for two weeks prior to my first day of training. I arrived a hot mess of tension and pain. But that day changed everything for me, I began to truly listen to my body and discovered how to move with ease.

As soon as I embraced this approach, the tension and pain started to melt away. I regained my mobility more quickly than I'd ever imagined possible.
